Referring to my Despatch No. 137
of the 26th. May, 1905, I have the honour to forward six
copies of the Postmaster-General's Report on the Post
Office Department for the year 1905.

The Revenue for the year increased
by $6,379.27 compared with 1904 to a total of $414,838.19,
the increase being due to larger sale of stamps and greater
profits on Money Order transactions. The Expenditure in-
-creased by $268,692.69 mainly owing to the payment in
accordance with Lord Morley's award of arrears on the
subsidy to the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation
Company for the seven years ending January 31st., 1905.
There was also a special expenditure of over $13,000 for a
Steam-launch.
